Privacy Policy
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Dailance, operated by Oleg Pyrchenkov as an individual developer (“Dailance,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use the Dailance personal budgeting application.
2. Information we collect
We collect information you provide, information created as you use budgeting features, and limited technical and security information needed to operate the service. Dailance does not currently connect to bank accounts, import bank transactions, or collect receipt photos.
3. Account information
We collect your email address and information about account status, email verification, password recovery, and sessions. Your password is handled as authentication data and stored by our systems as a secure password hash, not as readable plaintext.
4. Profile information
We may collect an optional profile name, your chosen currency preference, and your timezone. Timezone information is used to apply dates and monthly periods consistently.
5. Financial plan information
We collect the monthly plan period and currency, planned income names and amounts, planned essential expense names and amounts, and your selected savings percentage. We also create budget values derived from the information you enter, such as planned savings, available monthly budget, daily budget, and carry-over.
6. Expense information
We collect expenses you enter manually, including expense names, amounts, currencies, dates, and related plan and category information. We use this information to maintain expense history, calculate daily balances, and provide basic analytics.
7. Category information
We process the system categories you choose and custom category names you create, rename, archive, or associate with expenses. Category information may remain in historical expense records so those records retain their meaning.
8. Technical and security information
We process app, session, request, device, network, and security metadata reasonably needed to authenticate users, maintain sessions, prevent misuse, diagnose failures, deliver the service, and protect its infrastructure. This may include internal identifiers, request and correlation identifiers, timestamps, IP addresses processed by network infrastructure, response status, and security event information. We do not intentionally collect passwords, verification codes, recovery codes, or access tokens in application logs.
9. Email and notification data
We process your email address, message type, delivery status, and limited operational metadata to send account verification, password recovery, security, and other transactional notifications. Email content may include a short-lived verification or recovery code where needed.
10. How we use information
We use information to:
- create, verify, authenticate, and secure accounts;
- provide profiles, monthly plans, expenses, categories, daily budgets, carry-over, and analytics;
- send essential account and service messages;
- respond to support and privacy requests;
- maintain, troubleshoot, and improve service reliability; and
- process account deletion.
11. Legal, security, and operational purposes
We may use information when reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, respond to valid legal process, enforce our terms, detect or prevent fraud and abuse, investigate security incidents, protect users and the service, establish or defend legal claims, and maintain necessary business records.
12. Service providers
We use Resend to deliver transactional emails such as account verification, password recovery, and account-deletion completion messages. Resend may process the recipient email address, message content, short-lived verification or recovery codes where applicable, delivery status, and related operational metadata for that purpose.
The public legal website is hosted through GitHub Pages. GitHub may process ordinary web-request and network metadata when it delivers these pages, but the legal website does not receive Dailance account or financial data and does not use tracking scripts or cookies.
The production application hosting and encrypted backup-storage providers and their processing locations have not yet been selected. They must be confirmed and this draft must be reviewed before public release. Those providers may process account, financial, technical, or backup data only as needed to provide their services to us and subject to applicable contractual and legal obligations.
13. Data sharing
We may share information with service providers as described above; when required by law or valid legal process; when reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, and security; or in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate protections. Dailance does not sell personal information and does not share personal information with advertisers.
14. Data retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide Dailance, maintain security and integrity, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Different information may be kept for different periods, and we do not promise a fixed period where a reliable schedule has not yet been established.
When an account deletion request is completed, account and financial data associated with the account is deleted or made inaccessible in active application systems. A limited cryptographic security marker that does not contain the account email or financial records may remain to prevent deleted data from being recreated or stale requests from being accepted. Some copies may remain in encrypted backups until those backups are rotated. Limited security logs and transactional-email delivery records may also remain where reasonably necessary for security, legal, fraud-prevention, dispute, or operational purposes.
15. Account deletion
You can request deletion in the Dailance application from Profile → Delete account. You must confirm the request with your current password. After the request is accepted, you are signed out and processing continues asynchronously. Completion removes the account and its associated personal financial data from active application systems, subject to the limited retention described above.
When deletion has completed across Dailance services, we send a confirmation email to the account email address. Email delivery is a separate notification step, so an email-provider delay or failure does not undo the completed deletion.
See Delete Account for step-by-step instructions. If you cannot access your account, contact support@dailance.com.
16. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. These include password hashing, access controls, encrypted network connections, service separation, and security monitoring appropriate to the service. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
17. International processing
Your information may be processed in countries other than the country where you live, including countries where the operator or our service providers operate. Privacy laws in those countries may differ. Where required, we take appropriate steps to protect personal information in accordance with applicable law. Specific provider locations and any required transfer arrangements must be verified before the relevant provider is used in production.
18. Children
Dailance is not intended for children or minors under 18. You must be at least 18 years old to create or use an account. If you believe a person under 18 has provided information contrary to these requirements, contact us so we can review it and take appropriate action.
19. Your choices and rights
You can update supported profile and financial information, edit or delete expenses where the app provides those controls, and request account deletion in the app. Depending on where you live, you may have rights relating to your personal information, such as access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, or making a complaint to a regulator. These rights are not identical in every country and may be subject to legal exceptions.
To make a privacy request, email support@dailance.com. We may ask for information reasonably necessary to confirm your identity and control of the relevant account. Do not send your password, verification code, recovery code, or access token by email. Account deletion inside the app remains the primary deletion method when you can access your account.
20. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the service, our practices, or applicable requirements change. We will change the “Last updated” date and provide additional notice where reasonably required.
